The Mighty Murray

Itinerary​

Arrive at the campsite (Bolto Reserve, Mannum) by 11:00 AM, where we'll kick off the adventure with a warm welcome and a chance to settle in. Take this time to unpack, get comfortable, and connect with fellow campers. Lunch and snacks will be provided to keep you fuelled for the day ahead.

In the afternoon, we’ll stroll into town with a scenic 1.2 km walk (approximately 30 minutes) across the river. There, we’ll board the PW Mayflower for a relaxing 1.5-hour river cruise. Sit back and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the Murray River, accompanied by insightful commentary from the captain. Light refreshments will be available onboard.

After the cruise, we’ll explore the local museum, rich in the region’s paddle steamer heritage and river culture. Then we’ll make our way back to camp, just in time to unwind around the campfire. As the sun sets, we’ll enjoy a true Aussie tradition, cooking damper over the fire followed by a delicious dinner.

The next morning, we’ll start the day with a peaceful breakfast by the river, soaking in the serenity one last time before saying our goodbyes and packing up to head back to the city.

 

Please note:

• Alcohol is not supplied, but you're welcome to bring your own. A fridge is available on-site to keep your drinks chilled.
   

• Transport is self-arranged. Bolto Reserve campsite is only accessible by car, with a sealed road all the way from Adelaide. The drive to Mannum takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from the city.
