

Uluru & Kings Canyon
This seven-day journey into the heart of Australia is unlike any other. Sleep beneath a blanket of stars in cozy swags, swim in ancient outback waterholes, and feel the deep, sacred energy of the Red Centre. With all the camping gear sorted and meals taken care of, all you have to do is show up and soak it in. Whether you're travelling solo or with mates, this trip is all about easy adventure, real connections, and memories made around the campfire.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Alice Springs to Ormiston Gorge
Our adventure begins in Alice Springs, where we hit the road and head west into the beautiful West MacDonnell Ranges.
Stops along the way:

Simpsons Gap - Towering cliffs and a peaceful gorge.

Ellery Creek Big Hole - A great spot for a swim and a snack break.

Ormiston Gorge - We’ll spend the afternoon here relaxing, exploring, or swimming.
Day 2 – Ormiston Pound Walk & Redbank Gorge
We’ll beat the heat with an early morning walk through Ormiston Pound, one of the best trails in the West Macs with epic outback views.
Later, we’ll head to Redbank Gorge, a quiet spot perfect for a refreshing swim or a slow wander along the waterhole.

Day 3 – Glen Helen Gorge to Kings Canyon
This morning we’ll visit Glen Helen Gorge, soak up the stillness, and then hit the road for a scenic 3-hour drive to Kings Canyon.
We'll arrive with time to relax at camp or enjoy sunset drinks overlooking the incredible outback scenery.

Day 4 – Kings Canyon Rim Walk to Yulara
We’ll start the day early with the Kings Canyon Rim Walk (2–3 hours), taking in the dramatic cliffs and hidden oasis known as the Garden of Eden.
After lunch, we’ll drive to Yulara—the resort town near Uluru—and get our first glimpse of Uluru as we arrive.

Day 5 – Sunrise at Uluru & Field of Light
Another early start to catch sunrise at Uluru—watch as the colours shift and glow in the morning light.
After breakfast:

10.6 km base walk around Uluru. There are shorter options also available.

Visit the Cultural Centre to learn about Anangu culture and the significance of this sacred place
There will be time to relax at the campground and the day winds down with an Uluru sunset followed by the spectacular Field of Light installation
Day 6 – Kata Tjuta: Valley of the Winds Hike & Helicopter Option
We head out early again to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) for a walk through the Valley of the Winds, a beautiful 3-hour trail through massive domes and open plains.
Afternoon options:

Optional helicopter flight over Uluru and Kata Tjuta

Chill out at camp, check out Yulara’s shops, or join a free bush tucker or culture session
Day 7 – Return to Alice Springs
We’ll hit the road back to Alice Springs (~6 hours). Along the way, we’ll stop to see:

Mount Conner (Fool-uru) - Often mistaken for Uluru

Erldunda Roadhouse - A good spot for a bite and a break
We’ll arrive back in town in the late afternoon to wrap up the trip.

Please ensure you limit your luggage to 1x duffel bag and 1x personal bag/backpack

You will need to bring warm and comfy clothes for the evenings. While you will be warm enough in the swag, the weather at camp can be chilly in the evening and mornings.
